One Week In

Wow, I can’t believe it’s Sunday already. I have been here for a full week and this last week was a whirl wind! After my first day down touring the Hindu Temple, I took Tuesday to just drive around and then I jumped into work on Wednesday. I’m trying to figure out what I’ll actually be doing, now that I’m here. Last week consisted of a lot of driving and orientationing. I got settled into my little office area. I work in an area of the building that consists of all guys, so I chose the office in the corner…to get away if ever needed. Plus I have a window and I’m right by the door (which isn’t good right now, because it’s quite chilly out and I feel the cold whenever someone goes in or out!)

It looks like I will be doing some campus ministry working with Central State. It’s a college here in town and I am planning to meet with the coaches to see how I can best serve them. This might include traveling with them down to Florida on their spring break trip. This coming weekend, I’m going down to Kentucky for SECs (SEC indoor track & field conference championships). I am super excited for this, because Alabama will be there and I’ll get to see some of my athletes, who I miss dearly!!!

I definitely have been blessed, because there are tons of great people here who are so welcoming and helpful. If I have an issue with something, I have more than one person to talk with, which is great. I feel like I’ve walked into a family and once this “new girl” feeling works itself off, I will feel a part of this great family. I am so excited to see how God is going to use me and what I’m going to be able to do for Him!
