Let it Shine!

I was at a friend’s house when they had a mini concert and during one of the songs, a lyric jumped out and embraced me. It was “The light we give is not ours to tame but just to let it shine.” I’m not sure how the author meant it, but this is how I see it:
God has ignited a light within each and everyone of us. Sometimes in society, we feel we have to watch ourselves and not be “all Chrisitan” all the time because it might offend someone. So what? It’s not our job to tame what God has given us…how else will people know about the love and grace of God if we don’t show it? How else will they realize there’s something different about us and get curious as to what that difference is? We just gotta let it shine and let God do the rest!
