SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 52; Psalm 143-144; Revelation 1
Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. ~ Psalm 143:7

OBSERVATION:
Waiting is not an activity many are good at or enjoy. We pray to God and expect an answer immediately. When the answer doesn’t come, we question why. We question God. Sometimes we feel as though God has abandoned us, or is helping others, therefore He doesn’t have time for us. We feel God is nowhere to be found. Maybe He’s taking a vacation? No, God is always working (John 5:17). Just because God doesn’t answer when or how we want doesn’t mean He won’t. He answers in His own way that is best for us. We need to grow our roots deeper into our relationship with God so when He answers in a way we don’t expect, our faith won’t fail and we can smile and say, “Well, that’s God for ya!”

APPLICATION:
I’ve wanted quick answers to my prayers and when some went unanswered, I questioned God. I didn’t understand. But really, I didn’t understand Him. Looking back on some of the unanswered or delayed prayers, I know God’s hands were behind it all. I know He is always with me, every step I take.

PRAYER:
Father, Your ways are higher than mine. Your thoughts are deeper than mine. Thank you for giving me what I need, when I need it and keeping a constant eye on me.
