This is Not “Where’s Waldo”
SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 12-14; Revelation 5
In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” ~ Revelation 5:12
OBSERVATION:
It’s all about Him. It always has been, it always will be. How often do we search the Scriptures for a comforting verse we can apply to us, to make our life better or to make us feel better? The entire Bible is written about one being – God. It’s not about us and what we can or cannot do – it’s about Him and what He has, can and will do.
APPLICATION:
Every time I read the Bible, I’m thinking, “Find the verse for me…where is it?” or “What enlightenment is God going to give me for my life today?” Ahg! How selfish! Yes, God does give us verses that can be applied to my life, to make it better or to make me feel better. But first and foremost, I should be reading the Scriptures to know Him, to discover, learn and experience Him. I feel like I’m finally starting to get it.
PRAYER:
Abba, Father, please forgive me for my selfishness! I’ve been wanting to grow as a Christian, yet I’ve missed the point that to do that, I must grow closer to You. Please keep revealing Yourself to me so we can deepen our relationship. I love You, Lord and You are worthy.
