Respectful and Bold

SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 1-3; Revelation 2
And whether they listen or fail to listen – for they are a rebellious house – they will know that a prophet has been among them. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house. You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you. ~ Ezekiel 2:5-8
OBSERVATION:
We are not surrounded by Christians every day. We live among people who don’t know the Lord and some people who hate the Lord. They may think we’re nuts for loving an unseen God and they may even say things to mock us. But God encourages us not to focus on the hurtful words, but to continue to live as a Christian, to love and to speak the words He has given us. Whether they listen or not, over time, they will notice we are different. They will notice something. They don’t recognize Christ, so we must act as Christ so they can see.
APPLICATION:
I sometimes can become timid around people if I don’t know where they stand with Christ. But it should not matter. I should speak the words of Christ always, while also being respectful of others. But I can be respectful and bold at the same time.
PRAYER:
Father, don’t let the words of others stand in my way of speaking the words You’ve placed on my heart.
