SCRIPTURE: Isaiah25-28; Hebrews 13
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” ~ Hebrews 13:5

OBSERVATION:
God gives us what we need when we need it. It’s not always what we want or when we want it, though, which can be a huge struggle, especially when we get caught in the comparison game. We’re usually pretty content with our lives, until we look at someone else’s. Take a child at Christmas for example. He is so excited about the gifts he got – until he gets to school. Little Billy down the street got a remote control air plane that actually flies! All the hours of elated enjoyment the first child had playing with his cousins with his new green army men were immediately erased and replaced with envious greed.

APPLICATION:
I see things my friends have and I long for them. It’s not always money, nor materialistic. Sometimes it’s just having a community, a close friend (in relationship and geography) or even an opportunity to put down some roots. But I know I have all that I need…and if I don’t have it now, then I don’t need it now. God knows my longings and my desires, but He’s more concerned about my needs.

PRAYER:
Thank you, Lord, for everything You have given to me. You are my Jehovah-Jireh. Please help me to remember it all comes in Your timing, if it comes at all.
