Ignorance Isn’t Always Bliss
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 7-9; Romans 9
I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense.
~ Proverbs 7:7
OBSERVATION:
Again, Solomon emphasizes the importance of wisdom and how it can keep us from trouble in Proverbs 7. he talks about how, without wisdom, we can be led into sin.
APPLICATION:
The more I’ve worked with younger kids, the more I shake my head in disbelief. Sometimes I wonder what is going on in their heads. Sometimes I’m even envious of their ignorant bliss. To go through life with hardly a care in the world. I miss those days. But because I chose to live in ignorance, I was led into sin - I went willingly. As I look at the younger population God has entrusted to me, I feel a sense of urgency to point them to wisdom, yet I want them to still cling to their youth.
PRAYER:
Father God, please give me the words to say and the discernment of when to say something and when to bite my tongue.
