Calling Testimony
Looking back on my life, I can see how God orchestrated my life’s path to get me to where I am today. I was a successful track & field athlete in college, yet I felt an overwhelming sensation of emptiness. During my sophomore year, a teammate of mine asked me to go to Athletes in Action (AIA) with her. I remained involved with AIA while I was in college as a participant.
In 2005, I moved down to Alabama for an internship working in Athletic Academics at the University of Alabama. At this point in my life, I was craving Biblical knowledge and so much more of God. A coworker of mine was going to a Bible study and I asked if I could tag along. It just so happened that it was a part of Alabama’s AIA Campus Ministry. Again, I became involved. But this time, I stepped into more of a leadership position. I co-led a Bible study one semester, then the following year I led my own. I began comparing my activities with AIA to my full time job and saw there was no comparison what so ever.
I was blessed with the opportunity to join AIA Track & Field on their Project USA trip in 2006. It was on that trip I felt the Lord calling me to this ministry full time. I want to use my love for the Lord and my love for track & field to expose people to what finally filled my emptiness ~ Jesus Christ.
